I bought tickets for this game on February 19, at 10 am, right when tickets went on sale for the 2009 season at PNC Park. At that time, I'm sure I was optimistic that the Cubs would be in the pennant chase and that all of the September games would be so crucial. Here we are - 11.5 games behind St. Louis and barely above .500. The Cubs are a bunch of bums.
Also - the Pirates are guaranteed of finishing below .500, just as they have every season since 1993. SEVENTEEN consecutive losing seasons.
Regardless, I love baseball.
